Layer of Dust - A Landscape in the Mist
Tel Aviv Artists House
2021
The work The Layer of Dust - A Landscape in the Mist is a tribute and acceptance to the film "Landscape in the Mist" by Greek director Theo Angelopoulos. The layer of dust and time leaves memories and deals with the meaning of existence.
10 frames of the same image, accumulating constant dust at different time periods starting from January 2020.
For 21 months the dust and time accumulated on the pictures and left their mark on the sheets of paper at different time periods.
The photo was taken by the artist David Peer on a rainy winter day in Tel Aviv, on Ibn Gvirol Street, very close to the Reading station.
The window on the front level, taken from an old building in south Tel Aviv, opens up an alternative possibility of thinking about the phenomenon of gaze in a way that illuminates our very participation in the human situation.
